Tight-End Fantasy Rankings 2020

Tight Ends, not just a category on pornhub. The following rankings pertain to a 12-team PPR league.

Top 10 Locks

  1. Travis Kelce | God-Level Tier. The best fantasy Tight End in the game. The only TE I would take in the first round. Easy production from a premium position, not to mention the incredible week to week consistency he provides.  Oh yea, he also has insane chemistry with the best Pat in the league.

  2. George Kittle | The best all-around Tight End in football. An absolute technician in the blocking game, but honestly who the hell cares. I’d grab him in the late second round if the board broke that way.  He’ll get you 10 points a week, but he’s also capable of popping off a couple of beast mode games. Plus he’s a blast to watch on Sundays.

  3. Mark Andrews | LAMAR JACKSON LOVES HIM. Simple, don’t overthink it. He’s a redzone monster. Take him in the third and don’t bat an eye. He is still ascending, great roster spot in dynasty leagues.

  4. Darren Waller | Freak show. Great comeback story yadda yadda yadda.  This guy is a matchup nightmare in the middle of the field.  Long strider who can outrun linebackers and drop kick safety’s, ala your prototypical Tight End.  I’d feel comfortable grabbing him late in the late third or fourth round. I think the addition of Henry Ruggs will open up the middle of the field for Waller.  He’s definitely trending upwards.

  5. T.J. Hockenson | The break-out is coming. Detroit’s first-rounder flashed week one last year, got all of us tight end truthers all hot and bothered, and then he turned to shit. In some sense, he kind of set the tone for the Lions season in that way. He’s a very talented player, who Stafford seemed to like last preseason and week one. Is this a bit high? Sure, but there’s a reason Detroit picked him so high. And Stafford’s bound to stay healthy for a year right? And Patricia won’t be a big enough doucher to create a mutiny will he? I’d start targeting him in round 5 and later. Someone’s gonna break out right?

  6. Zach Ertz | The new Jason Witten, because the old Jason Witten is old. Steady Eddy. An extremely consistent player who produces 10 points every week. Unfortunately, the addition of Dallas Goedert, Miles Sanders, and Jalen Reagor in consecutive drafts will continue to work against Ertz and his former elite tight end status. One major thing working in his favor is that he’s married to a smoke show patriot, so that’s worth something according to the transitive property. I’d feel comfortable grabbing him in round 5, although I suspect someone might grab him earlier than that due to name recognition.

  7. Rob Gronkowski | The man, the myth, the legend. Everyone’s favorite wrassler’ is back! This is a complete hedge.  He could be TE 1 this year, but I suspect something in between his 2017 and 2018 seasons.  What concerns me most is the amount of options TB12 has this year versus the last couple of years in New England.  How many balls are enough balls for Rob? Probably less than Michael Sam.  He could go as early as round 3, but I’d be targeting him starting in round 5.

  8. Hunter Henry | If Phillip Rivers only came back! Hunter Henry should be an elite TE. He’s a stud. Too bad he’s got a bit of Eifert’s glass body. I’m also a bit salty about his quarterback situation this year. Too many question marks for me to put him higher, but I do like the player.  Round 6 is a good spot for him.  As you can tell I think there should be a pretty heavy middle-round Tight End run.

  9. Evan Engram | Another lottery ticket. He flashes more than Kendra Wilkinson on The Girls Next Door. Do you trust Daniel Jones? Do you trust Evan Engram’s health? No, not really, but I just can’t quit the talent on this guy. He becomes an option starting in round 6, can’t imagine him falling past the 10th.

  10. Hayden Hurst | 2nd Coming of Hooper. Matty Ice balled out with Hooper last year as the tight end became a key part of the Falcons offense. The Falcons gave up a 2nd rounder to get DOUBLE H leading me to connect the dots, he’s going to get targets. I think Matt Ryan has another good year left and Hurst will be one of a few beneficiaries. If he’s sitting there in round 10 or later I’d scoop him up.

Just Missed The Cut

  1. Jack Doyle | Straight gamer.  Sketchy injury history, but love the fact that Phillip Rivers’s wet noodle of an arm can only throw the ball so far.

  2. Austin Hooper | Do you trust Baker? There are a lot of mouths to feed in Cleveland and they’re acting like they’ll be a run-first offense with Team Chubby Hunt.

  3. Noah Fant | Started to flash late last year. Boom or Bust guy. Ideal TE2 on your bench.

  4. Dallas Goedert | Slowly siphoning redzone targets from Ertz. Still not enough volume to be higher.

  5. Tyler Higbee | Another ideal TE2.  The whole Rams offense is just too inconsistent week to week in my opinion.  Good guy to grab and stash.

  6. Jonnu Smith | Was the late-season chemistry with Tannehill legitimate? If it was someone will be getting a steal.
